Frequently asked questions
- Which bitrate should I pick for music?
- 320 kbps (High) for audiophile listening; 192 kbps (Balanced) is fine for commutes, workouts, and most casual playback — close to CD quality to most ears.
- Why not keep FLAC?
- FLAC is great for archival and home listening but many devices (older iPhones, some car stereos, cheap BT speakers) don't play it. MP3 is the universal fallback.
- Does Clapr upload my file?
- No. Conversion runs entirely in-browser.
- Will it preserve album metadata / tags?
- ID3 tags are preserved where ffmpeg can map them. Album art requires embedded art in the FLAC; if missing, re-add it after conversion with a tag editor.
