Frequently asked questions
- Why not just keep OGG?
- OGG Vorbis is an excellent open codec but has patchy support on iOS, cars, and legacy players. MP3 is the compatibility fallback.
- Will conversion lose quality?
- Yes, both codecs are lossy so there's slight degradation. At 192 kbps or higher it's hard to hear on typical hardware.
