CapCut Export Error Codes: The Official Fix for Each One

CapCut's help center publishes a fix for six export error codes — and a definition for none of them. That is the most important thing to know before you start searching: the official page tells you exactly what to do about 4114, but never says what 4114 means.

Below is the official table, quoted as written, plus an honest account of where the documentation stops.

What the error code actually tells you

CapCut's page "How Do I Fix Export Issues in CapCut?" opens with a single framing sentence:

"If you encounter problems while exporting a video in CapCut, the error code shown on your screen can help identify what went wrong."

The page that follows is a list of procedures, not causes. For each code you get one to three steps and nothing else — no explanation of what failed, no indication of whether the problem is your project, your device, or CapCut's renderer.

Three limits of that page are worth stating up front, because they change how you should use it:

  1. No definitions. You cannot reverse-engineer the meaning from the fix. "Increase your virtual memory" does not prove the code means "out of memory" — that is an inference, and CapCut never confirms it.
  2. No platform scoping. The page does not say which of these codes appear on CapCut Web, Desktop, or the mobile app. It simply lists codes.
  3. Six codes only. If your screen shows something else, CapCut's export-issues page will not have it. Check the official documentation for anything outside this list.

Note that CapCut groups -1 and 4155 together under one fix. That pairing is the page's own, not ours.

The fastest fix: bisect the timeline

Two of the six entries — 4114 and 10004 — get the same first instruction in slightly different words: export in parts to find the clip that is breaking the render. That makes bisecting your timeline the highest-value first move, even before you know which code you have.

  1. Export the first half of the project. If it succeeds, the problem is in the second half.
  2. Halve again. Four or five passes narrows a long timeline to a single clip.
  3. Then the official step diverges by code: 4114 says replace the problematic material; 10004 says delete the affected clip, add it again, then re-export the whole project.

If you only need a defined range rather than a full half, CapCut documents In and Out markers "to define the exact range you want to export". The steps, in CapCut's own order: "Press Shift + X on your keyboard", then "Move the playhead to where your clip should start and press I to set the In marker", then O for the Out marker — and "(You can press I and O in any order.)" CapCut does not say which platforms these shortcuts apply to.

When the culprit turns out to be one imported file, replacing it usually means re-encoding it into something cleaner. CapCut's own advice for media it cannot handle is to "Use a trusted third-party transcoding or conversion tool" and "Convert the video or image into a format supported by CapCut" — that guidance sits on its import-failure page, but it is the same operation.

CapCut's help center lists MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV and M4V as its "Common Supported formats" for video, with the caveat that "Availability may vary depending on your device, operating system, and CapCut version."

The other four codes, and what each fix implies

22113 — rebuild compound clips. The instruction is narrow: remove and re-create all compound clips in the draft, not just the one you suspect. If your project has none, this fix has nothing to act on.

-1 / 4155 — virtual memory. This is the only fix in the table that points at your operating system rather than your project. CapCut deliberately does not walk you through it, telling you instead to search for instructions for your own OS. Note that the page says "page file", a Windows term, but never restricts the code to Windows.

-30007 — antivirus or save location. Two unrelated-looking suggestions sit under one code: temporarily turn off antivirus software, and change the save location for the exported file. CapCut is more concrete about save locations elsewhere — "Export to A Local Folder: Avoid saving directly to cloud-synced folders (e.g., OneDrive, iCloud)" — a good default whether or not you ever see -30007.

10006 — re-link media. Re-link the imported files, then export once everything is correctly linked. This is the code to expect after you have moved, renamed or deleted source files that a draft still references.

When the export fails without a code

Plenty of failed CapCut exports never produce a number at all. The official causes differ by where the export stalls, and CapCut splits them cleanly:

  • Stuck at 1%: "it usually means the problem happens very early in the rendering process. This can occur due to insufficient storage, corrupted clips at the start of the timeline, demanding export settings, or temporary app glitches." The suggested test is to "Temporarily delete the first few clips or effects and test the export."
  • Stuck at 99%: "In most cases, the video has already finished rendering, but the app cannot complete the final saving process." CapCut attributes this to "low storage space, corrupted media files in the project, or permission restrictions."
  • On desktop: "You need at least 2–3 GB free space on your export drive." CapCut also states, in its own words, that CapCut Desktop does not have an in-app "Clear Cache" button. To clear temp files manually, CapCut points Windows users at %LocalAppData%\CapCut\ and macOS users at ~/Library/Caches/com.lemon.lvoverseas/.
  • On mobile: rendering is interruptible. CapCut lists "Screen lock or switching apps pauses rendering" among the causes and tells you to "Keep the app in the foreground and disable auto-lock during export."
  • On the web: "Exporting 4K videos or long projects may exceed browser processing limits", with "Export in segments" listed as a resolution.

How to tell it worked

Export once more with the whole timeline, not the section you were testing — a bisected export only proves the halves are fine individually. Then open the finished file outside CapCut — a tip CapCut gives in the mobile section of its export-quality page, not as a general rule: play exports "on a computer or external player—not just in the CapCut app—to confirm true quality."

FAQ

What does CapCut error code 4114 mean? CapCut does not say. Its help center lists a fix for 4114 — export the video in smaller parts to find the clip causing the issue, then replace that material — but publishes no definition of the code. Anything you read that states what 4114 "means" is someone's inference, not CapCut's documentation.

Which CapCut export error codes are officially documented? Seven numbers across six entries: 4114, 22113, -1, 4155, 10004, -30007 and 10006 — CapCut pairs -1 and 4155 under a single fix. For any other code, check the official documentation.

Do these codes apply to CapCut Web, Desktop or mobile? The official page does not say. It lists the codes and fixes without distinguishing platforms, so a code you see in the browser may or may not have the same cause as the same number on desktop.

Why does CapCut tell me to increase virtual memory? That is the documented fix for -1 and 4155. CapCut does not explain why, and does not provide the steps — it tells you to look up how to expand virtual memory for your own operating system, then export again.

My export fails on one clip. Do I have to re-edit everything? No. Bisect the timeline to isolate the clip, then follow the fix for your code — replace the material for 4114, or delete and re-add it for 10004. Converting that one file to a clean MP4 first is often enough; the browser tools here do that without uploading anything.
